Quick relief from a stomach virus?

When I get stomach ache I find that green tea helps a lot. At least it helps to ease symptoms. But recently passed and I got a little honey and stevia. I found that when either one of these ingredients where added it was almost like an instant cure. I had a friend who had swollen gums from a piece of chicken bone or something penetrated the gumline in the back of his jaw. I recommended to try green or white tea with honey or stevia. It helped tremendously! Of course together with regular oral health care as brushing and flossing. I do not ask if this remedy works (I found out personally that it does!) But what is it with these foods that contribute so much? I had 1 doctor tell me that Honey kinda suffocates bacteria. A bit like an antibiotic ointment. But I'm not sure if tea or stevia.

Just gonna walk here, cause you took up the honey and I learned some amazing things: While I cannot say about stevia, your doc is correct about the honey and bacteria. Pure honey, the kind that has not been heated to be sold in stores is the best. In the book "Comfort for the burned and wounded," written by an Amish man named John W. Keim of Northern Ohio (Ashland) learned me of honey. Its amazing! It is really good for burns, I could not put the book down. honey is one of the ingredients in Amish B & W Ointment. You know how when people get serious burns on their bodies, and must stay in hospital for weeks, in severe pain, and leaves severe scarring? Well, according to this book, they have burst out out several herbs, then cover the wound in Burdock leaves. The new skin grows in 7.8 days, with no scars and no pain. It, the book also tells about various matters, including the types in which the skin over large areas are completely burned off. ingredients are: honey, wheat germ oil, aloe vera, olive oil, lanolin (this is important also, as described in the book), Marshmallow root, white oak bark, wormwood, Comfrey root, Lobelia (but I do not recommend this from most nurseries, you'd want one that has not been altered too much from the original plant), vegetable gylcerin and beeswax.
